Strawberry Jalapeno Poppers
Jalapeños are the most popular chile peppers in the US. This is probably due to the availability and versatility of the chile. Jalapeños have a balanced combination of flavor and heat. The demand for these have caused breeders to develop a broad range of varieties.
Ingredients
- 1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
- 24 strawberries, hulled
- ¼ cup cream cheese, softened
- ½ teaspoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cilantro
Instructions
- Wash strawberries and pat dry.
- Hollow out strawberries with a spoon.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, jalapeno, lime juice and chili powder.
- Stuff strawberries with the cheese mixture.
- Dip cheese end of strawberry into cilantro.
- Refrigerate one hour and serve!
