Sizzling Garlic Shrimp
Bailey Farms hot sauces are all natural and of the highest quality. Unlike other sauces that are mostly pepper-vinegar, they are a blend of chiles and fresh vegetables that are cooked down to perfection and deliver the perfect balance of heat and flavor.
Ingredients:
1 pound 26/30 shrimp, peeled, tails left on
1 Tbsp. lime juice
1/4 cup good chicken stock
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. white ground pepper
1 Tbsp. Bailey Farms Red Habanero Hot Sauce
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. rice wine vinegar
1 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. garlic paste
10 water chestnuts
2 scallions, slice thinly
1 Tbsp. ketchup
1/2 tsp. brown sugar
1/4 cup oil
Instructions:
Marinate the shrimp with the lime juice, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. ofsoy sauce for an hour.
Mix the corn starch, salt, Chinese salt soy sauce, white pepper, hot sauce, vinegar and chicken stock in a small sauce pan, and stir constantly. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for about 4-5 minutes. Keep warm.
Heat the oil in a wok and add the garlic paste. Stir fry for a few seconds, then add the scallions, water chestnuts and shrimp. Stir frequently, frying the vegetables and shrimp for about 2-3 minutes.
Pour the sauce, ketchup and sugar over the mixture and stir fry for 1 minute. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.
Transfer to a hot serving dish and serve with plain or fried rice.
