Maw Barkers Pistol Packin’ Hot Sauce
Jalapenos are the most popular chile peppers in the US. This is probably due to the availability and versatility of the chile. Jalapenos have a balanced combination of flavor and heat.
The demand for these have caused breeders to develop a broad range of varieties. You can now get jalapenos with various heat level and sizes. These can be used in salsas, stuffed, or eaten straight with cheeseburgers (my personal favorite).
Ingredients:
2 fresh jalapenos
1 large onion
1 whole clove garlic
3 Tbsp cinnamon
3 Tbsp white sugar
1 tsp allspice
1 (32-oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp oil
Instructions:
Saute chopped onion, jalapeno, and garlic in oil. Add tomato and all other ingredients. Bring to a boil and lower heat. Simmer 20 minutes on low heat and pour into a glass container. Store in the refrigerator.
