Chilean Tomato and Sweet Onion Salad (Ensalada a la Chilena)

1 large Vidalia onion, halved lengthwise and very thinly sliced
1 Tbsp. salt
5 large ripe tomatoes, peeled and sliced
1-1/2 Tbsp. Bailey Farms Red Habanero Hot Sauce
1 Tbsp. minced fresh cilantro
3 Tbsp. vegetable or extra-virgin olive oil
Place the onion slices and salt in a bowl and cover with cold water. Soak the slices for about 10 minutes, then drain in a colander, rinsing briefly under cold running water and shake well. This step will eliminate most of the sharpness of the onion.
Arrange the tomatoes on a platter and salt generously. Top with the onion, then drizzle with the hot sauce and sprinkle with the minced cilantro. Sprinkle the oil evenly over the salad and toss to combine. Serve immediately.
