Spicy Vanilla Caramel Pineapple Sundaes
This Caribbean pepper is famous for being the hottest chile pepper in the world. They come in a variety of shapes and colors (yellow, orange, green, red, chocolate). Not only are they extremely hot, but they also have a unique, distinctively fruity flavor. It is the key ingredient in the popular Jamaican Jerk sauce. The habanero is also widely used in many different types of hot sauces. The popularity of this chile pepper continues to grow and is becoming easier to find on the grocery shelf.
Ingredients
4 slices pineapple
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. seeded and chopped habanero chili pepper
1/2 cup Caramel Flavored Ice Cream Sauce
2 cups Natural Vanilla Ice Cream
Directions
Grill or cook pineapple in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, turning once, until caramelized, about 6 minutes. Set aside.
Melt butter in same skillet and cook habanero chile pepper, stirring, 30 seconds. Add Caramel Flavored Ice Cream Sauce and pineapple and cook, stirring, until heated through, about 2 minutes.
Arrange pineapple on dessert plates. Top with Natural Vanilla Ice Cream and drizzle with sauce.
