Simple Fresh Salsa with Mango
Jalapeños are the most popular chile peppers in the US. This is probably due to the availability and versatility of the chile. Jalapeños have a balanced combination of flavor and heat. The demand for these have caused breeders to develop a broad range of varieties.
Serves: 6-8
INGREDIENTS
1 jalapeño, minced
2 tbsp red onions, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
3 large tomatoes, chopped into small pieces
1 cup mango, peeled, pitted and chopped into small pieces
¼ cup cilantro, roughly chopped
juice of 1 lime
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
½ tsp kosher salt
1 tsp hot sauce
1 tsp fish sauce (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Put all the ingredients for the fresh salsa into a bowl and mix well.
Let stand for 20 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper and serve cold with tortilla chips.
