Jalapeños are the most popular chile peppers in the US. This is probably due to the availability and versatility of the chile. Jalapeños have a balanced combination of flavor and heat.
2 ripe mangos, peeled and chopped
1 medium red onion, chopped
1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
3-4 fresh jalapeño chiles, seeded and chopped
juice of 1 lime (approximately 2 Tbsp.)
grated zest of 1 lime
dash of salt
Mix all ingredients together and let chill for at least an hour before serving.
