It is the key ingredient in the popular Jamaican Jerk sauce. The habanero is also widely used in many different types of hot sauces. The popularity of this chile pepper continues to grow and is becoming easier to find on the grocery shelf.
1/4 oz. extra-dry vermouth
1-1/2 oz. vodka
1 piece of habanero chile
Cut the habanero chile into wedges. Be very careful, the capsaicin in a Habenero is very dangerous, make sure you know how to handle the pepper. Stir the vodka and vermouth in some ice, then strain into a cocktail glass. Squeeze a little Habanero into the glass and garnish with a piece of the chile.
