Caribbean Habanero Hot Sauce

This Caribbean pepper is famous for being the hottest chile pepper in the world. They come in a variety of shapes and colors(yellow, orange,green, red,chocolate). Not only are they extremely hot, but they also have a unique,distinctively fruity flavor.

It is the key ingredient in the popular Jamaican Jerk sauce. The habanero is also widely used in many different types of hot sauces. The popularity of this chile pepper continues to grow and is becoming easier to find on the grocery shelf.

Ingredients:

2 habanero chiles, seeded, minced
2 cloves garlic
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 cup chopped carrots
1 small onion, chopped
3 Tbsp. fresh lime juince
2 Tbsp. white vinegar
2 cups water

Instructions:
Saute the onion and garlic in oil over medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Add the carrots and water, and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the habaneros, lime juice, vinegar and salt. Place in a blender and mix on high speed for one minute.

Sprinkle on anything you want hot!
